Experienced writer, editor and event moderator.
About me
I am a journalist, editor and event moderator and programmer and have hosted panel conversations and interviews at events for The Times, The Daily Telegraph and for a wide range of third parties.
I have spent the last decade at The Times. I am currently assistant business editor, a role which includes leading in-depth coverage of business issues, investigative journalism and organising the newspaper’s weekend business coverage. I lead coverage of events including the budget and the annual Times CEO Summit event, which brings together the leaders of some of the UK’s largest companies with top politicians. I also help programme this event and have spoken at it. I previously worked as the paper’s enterprise editor, leading coverage of entrepreneurs, venture capital and SMEs. Other experiences include running the Daily and Sunday Telegraph’s Business Club and editing a magazine for entrepreneurs with an ABC circulation of 40,000. I have appeared on BBC News, BBC radio, Times Radio and LBC and hosted two seasons of The Entrepreneurs Chat podcast sponsored by Kleinwort Hambros.

With some incredible leaders across T-Mobile Global, Accenture and Freemantle. James is truly a natural, beyond making the audience feel welcome and engaged, his questions were interactive, insightful, and he did an incredible job at supporting the speakers in bouncing off answers from one another - making the conversation flow effortlessly whilst sticking to the point of discussion. We were lucky to have James join”

“James did a brilliant job chairing a panel discussion at the 30th Anniversary of the Enterprise Investment Scheme. It was clear that he had a deep understanding of the topic and he brought the conversation to life with his thoughtful approach and incisive questions. He did an excellent job leading a balanced and engaging conversation with the panellists, who included some of the UK's leading entrepreneurs and investors. It was genuinely one of the most interesting panel discussions I have attended in years and I have no hesitation in recommending James as a moderator or chair,”
